Eligibility for Summer Aid

The type and amount of financial aid available to you to attend summer session is based on your 2023-24 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), your summer enrollment, and available funding.

To be considered for financial aid to attend summer session, you must:

  • file a FAFSA for the 2023-24 year
  • be a continuing student from the 2023-24 academic year, or a new student who will enroll at SDSU for the fall 2024 semester
  • be making Satisfactory Academic Progress, as defined by the Financial Aid office, as a result of your cumulative units and grades during the summer 2023, fall 2023, and spring 2024 semesters

SDSU Global Campus

You will be evaluated for summer financial aid if registered at least half-time and in at least one summer session. Half-time means 6 units for undergraduate students and students in a teaching credential program or 5 units for graduate students.

You will be evaluated with any remaining aid eligibility available since summer funding depends on the types and amounts of assistance used during fall and spring, as there are yearly maximums for students that cannot be exceeded.
