As you begin your SDSU Experience, there are countless opportunities available to you. But how do you know where to start? This guide includes information cited by current students as critical to getting your life at SDSU off to a great start!
Be a Leader:
- Serve on an Associated Students advisory board
- Apply for the FLEX (Freshman Leadership Experience) Team
- Prepare to be a Resident Advisor, Community Assistant or Academic Mentor
- Get involved with sustainability initiatives on campus A.S. Green Love
- Visit the Jeffrey W. Glazer Center for Leadership & Community Service:
- Begin the Leadership Certificate Program
- Attend an Aztec CORE Leadership Retreat
Help Others:
- Participate in Aztec Unity Project
- Join a community service student organization
- Contact the Center for Leadership & Community Service to find other volunteer opportunities
- Volunteer through Student Government (A.S.)
- Join the Community Service Board
- Help end hunger through the Aztecs Rock Hunger food drive
- Donate Blood at the Campus Blood Mobile
- Volunteer through the Center for Intercultural Relations at a High School Conference or at the Diversity Summit
Get Connected:
- Go to Aztec Nights events

- Support Aztec Athletics
- Experience theater, music and the arts on-campus
- Attend a One SDSU Community event
- Join Student Government (A.S.)
- Discover boards and committees that match your interests
- Attend College Council Activities

Stay Healthy and Balanced:
- Get to know Student Health Services
- Attend campus wellness programs

- Sign up & use the Aztec Recreation Center (ARC) and the ARC Express
- Take a Mission Bay Aquatic Center recreation class
- Swim and relax at the Aquaplex

- Live on a Learning Community floor
- Meet with a tutor in the STAR Center
- Participate in a Commuter Life Mentoring Program
