The first six weeks of school are a great time to meet new friends and make some lasting memories.

Aztec Nights, our slate of free, late-night fun on-campus events, is the perfect place to do both. And this year, it’s bigger than ever!

Head to a block party, dodge balls, go to a carnival, catch a movie under the stars, have 90s-music-fueled fun at the new Aztec Recreation Center, get good eats at some of the city’s hottest food trucks, enjoy stand-up comedy or get your boogie on at a dance marathon.

ZIP Launchpad to host open house

The ZIP Launchpad, SDSU’s own business incubator, will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Aug. 22-26.

Learn more about the Launchpad, a free extracurricular incubator at SDSU, that helps SDSU students from all majors start with an idea and launch a business.

Meet the staff and the student teams as well as see the innovative space and tour the prototyping lab.

Most importantly, you will learn how to get involved.

Let's get away! Pack your sleeping bag and bring a jacket, we're going camping!

Join us for a free 3-day off-campus retreat in the mountains designed to enhance your leadership skills and connect you with other SDSU students. Let's explore your personal leadership style, how to work in teams to achieve a common goal, and learn about appreciating diversity within leadership through various activities. We'll provide the cabin and the s'mores, you bring the fun.

EOPOS to host “Estamo’ Bien: We’re All Good”!

The Office of Educational Opportunity Programs, Outreach and Success is hosting an informational session at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 25 to help students navigate the plethora of safety net resources available to them.

Learn how current SDSU students used resources such as the Economic Crisis Response Team, Campus Assistance, Response, Evaluation and Support team, the Undocumented Resource Center, Student Ability Success Center, Counseling & Psychological Services, and Commuter Life to help them overcome academic probation, housing and/or food insecurity, and the overall stigma behind seeking help.

ENTER THE (SNAP)DRAGON!

Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley opens on Sept. 3 with a season-opening game between the Aztecs and the University of Arizona Wildcats. The game will start at 12:30 p.m. and be televised by CBS.

Attend the Chemistry + Bio Chem’s Research Palooza

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is having a “Research Palooza,” where faculty interested in having students join their labs will give 10 minute talks and current students will show off their research posters. Pizza lunch included.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Aug. 27 in GMCS 333.

Facial coverings required in class!

A reminder to all students that you’re required to wear a mask in instructional settings whether indoors or outdoors.

This includes classrooms, instructional labs, spaces being actively used in an instructional capacity, and the library.

THE NEW AZTEC RECREATION CENTER IS OPEN!

The Aztec Recreation Center, a program of Associated Students, is fully complete and ready to support all your fitness and wellness needs! Six multi-use courts are now open for fitness classes, intramural sports and drop-in recreation activities such as basketball, indoor soccer, badminton and volleyball. In addition, the Olympic lifting zone has now been expanded!

Stop by the ARC to use the multi-use courts and expanded fitness space along with the state of the art climbing wall, indoor track and group fitness studios.

SDSU’s Cultural Resource Centers will be hosting open houses during Welcome Week!

The nine cultural centers provide a safe space for students from historically underrepresented backgrounds, women, the LGBTQIA+ community, formerly incarcerated individuals, and other groups, along with their allies.
