Unrecognized Fraternities & Sororities
Student organizations at SDSU may receive official University recognition if they abide by University policies, and such recognition entitles the organizations to use SDSU’s name, logo, and symbols (in accordance with campus policies), apply for organizational funding, participate in SDSU-sponsored events, and more. Student organizations that do not have official University recognition--either because they have not sought recognition, or because the University has withdrawn recognition due to violation of University policies--often do not adhere to the required organizational policies, and do not receive University support such as being advised by university staff and experiencing university-facilitated educational training. We encourage students to carefully consider the potential risks and consequences before joining an unrecognized student organization.

Beta Omega Phi
Beta Omega Phi has not been a recognized fraternity at SDSU in more than a decade.
However, the University has received recent reports of hazing within the (unrecognized)
San Diego chapter of the fraternity.
Chi Rho Omicron
Chi Rho Omicron has not been a recognized fraternity at SDSU in nearly a decade. However,
the University has received recent reports that the fraternity is operating in San
Diego.
Kappa Sigma Fraternity

In addition to the University sanction, the international Phi Gamma Delta Board of Directors indefinitely suspended the charter of the Sigma Delta chapter at SDSU. The University has not received reports of Phi Gamma Delta operating.
Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity
Expulsion for a minimum of seven years effective November 6, 2017
In addition to the University sanction, the national Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity Board revoked the charter of the California Phi Iota Chapter at SDSU. The University has not received recent reports of Phi Kappa Theta operating.
